This post is all about how to turn a bad day around.

We have all experienced a bad day – waking up on the wrong side of the bed, spilling coffee on our shirt, running late for work and to drop off the kids, and feeling like everything is working against us.
But here’s the good news, even the worst days can be turned around. With intention and self care you have the power to make your bad day better.
In this post, I am sharing simple but powerful self care ideas to turn a bad day around.
This post is all about self care for bad days.

How To Turn A Bad Day Around:
1. Take a deep breath (or three)
Deep breathing is a powerful tool that can lower your blood pressure and reduce stress and anxiety. Taking a few deep breaths can help you calm your nervous system and refocus.
My favorite breathing exercise is belly breathing where you slowly inhale through your nose and feel your belly fill with air then slowly exhale through your mouth. I like to do 5 to 10 belly breaths when I need to reset myself and refocus.
The best part about deep breathing is that you can do it pretty much anywhere. So the next time you feel like things aren’t going your way try to reset your mind by taking a few deep breaths.
2. Journal
Writing down your feelings gets them out of your head and can feel therapeutic. Journaling is a healthy way to express your thoughts and feelings and can help you reduce stress, manage anxiety, and cope through hard times.
The next time you are having a hard day mentally, give journaling a try and watch how your day improves.
3. Spend time in nature
According to Mayo Clinic, spending time in nature can regulate your nervous system in as little as 5 minutes. Pretty amazing, right?
Try stepping outside to calm down and reset your mood, whether you’re having a bad day at work, school, or home.
4. Call a friend
Talk to a friend you trust and can confide in. Sometimes just venting to someone you trust will make you feel better and help you get your frustrations off your chest. They may even have some advice about your frustrations or are just good at offering a listening ear.
5. Move your body
Did you know that exercise can make you feel happy? According to WebMD, when you exercise your body releases endorphins that trigger a positive feeling in the body.
So the next time you’re having a bad day, take a walk around your neighborhood, go for a swim, or hit the gym to reset your mood and feel better.
6. Do something you enjoy
One of the easiest ways to turn a bad day into a good day is to end the day doing something you enjoy. Whether you had a hard day at home with your kids or a stressful day at work, try planning something fun at the end of your day to end the day on a positive note.
This can look like scheduling a dinner with your best friend or planning a cozy night at home reading your favorite book. Pick your favorite hobby to give you a mood boost.
7. Say Positive affirmations
Sometimes the best way to get out of a bad headspace is to change your perspective. Old Dominion University, states that positive thinking can rewire your brain and change the way you feel about things.
Try repeating positive affirmations out loud or listening to affirmation videos to change your outlook on a bad day.

I hope these tips inspired you to take control of your day and turn it around for the better. Remember turning a bad day around takes intention and self care. The next time you’re having a bad day come back to these tips and watch your day transform!
