Fun Things To Do With Toddlers At Home:
These are my go-to things to do with my toddler at home.
Play a game
Playing board games is such a fun way to play with your toddler. I have a 4-year-old, and right now these are her favorite games to play:
Candy Land – this is a classic and fun to play as a family.
Banana Blast – we never play this game just once.
Hide and seek
Have your toddler hide while you count, and go find them. The funniest thing about playing hide and seek with toddlers is their hiding spaces. They usually hide in a very obvious place and laugh while hiding, so they are not hard to find. Your toddler will have a lot of fun, and you will laugh while playing.
Build with Legos
Try to build the tallest tower you can with Legos! If your toddler is anything like mine, they will have the most fun knocking it down (over and over again).
These are the legos we use – I find the bigger legos are easier for toddlers to grasp and build with.
Bake cookies
Who doesn’t love cookies? You can buy premade cookies and let your toddler put them on the baking sheet, or you can bake cookies from scratch. I usually buy premade cookies (just because it’s easier). The most fun part is eating them together!
Have a picnic
Set up a lunch date (picnic style) in your living room. This is such a fun and easy thing to do with your toddler at home. Make some sandwiches, grab your favorite snacks, and lay a blanket down on the floor for a fun indoor picnic.
Things To Do With Toddlers At Home On A Rainy Day:
Try these cozy and fun things to do with your toddler when you are stuck at home on a rainy day.
Make hot chocolate
A cup of hot chocolate is perfect on a rainy and cold day.
Have a dance party
Rainy days usually mean more time indoors, which can make your little one feel antsy. A fun way to let your toddler burn some energy is to have a dance party.
Sit on your porch and watch the rain
My toddler loves to watch the rainfall. So one of our favorite rainy day activities is to bundle up, sit on our porch, and watch the rain. The sound of rain can be so calming.

Indoor scavenger hunt
Another fun rainy day activity for toddlers is to do an indoor scavenger hunt. I keep it really simple and give my daughter a color of an object to find. For example, I will ask her to find something pink in the house, and she will find a pink shirt and show me. It’s simple, but my toddler has a lot of fun doing it.
How fun do these Toddler Scavenger Hunt Cards look?! This is the perfect easy rainy day activity to play with your toddler! The cards will have them find items around your home, such as a sock or book.
Creative Things To Do With Toddlers At Home:
These are fun and creative things to do with your toddler.
Paint
Painting is so fun. I recently let my children paint canvases to use as decor in their room, and they had so much fun. They were so happy to display their artwork too.
Washable paint is a must for toddlers!
Make a necklace using Cheerios
Let your toddler make a necklace using pipe cleaners and Cheerios for an easy craft.
Color/draw
Bring out the coloring books and crayons, and let your little one color.
I love these mess-free coloring packs for my toddler.
Play with play-doh
Play-Doh keeps my toddler busy for hours. She loves to make pretend food out of Play-Doh and play restaurant.
We have this Play-Doh set, and it’s perfect if your toddler likes to make play food.
Easy Things To Do With Toddlers At Home:
I had to include a section of easy things to do at home with your toddler (because sometimes we are tired and don’t feel like doing anything). These are fun things to do with your toddler that don’t require you to get up from the couch.
Read books
Reading books is an easy way to spend time with your toddler.
If you need book ideas, here are some of my toddler’s favorite books to read at the moment:
I’m A Frog (An Elephant and Piggie Book)
Have a movie day
Movie days are seriously the best. Put on a toddler-friendly movie, make some popcorn, cuddle on the couch, and watch a movie. Some of my toddler’s favorite movies to watch are Frozen, Moana, The Boss Baby, Sing, and Trolls.
Simon says
Simon says is a classic game that toddlers love, and it is super easy to play. You can play Simon Says with your toddler while sitting down, so it’s a perfect game to play when you have no energy.
