The Best Self Care Sunday Tips:
1. Clear your whole day
Do your best to clear your schedule for the day. Dedicate a whole day to doing things that will make you feel good. Today is about putting yourself first and setting yourself up for a successful week.
2. Start your morning right
Use this self care day to sleep in, and get a good night’s rest.
Once you wake up, start your morning unrushed and mindful. Take your time to stretch, and wake up slowly. Next, drink a cup of water to rehydrate, eat a healthy breakfast, and make your favorite coffee or tea.
Once you have eaten and enjoyed a cup of coffee or tea, do your favorite morning self care activity.
Some morning self care ideas are:
- exercise
- go for a walk
- read a book
- listen to music
- write in a gratitude journal

3. Make a self care Sunday to-do list
Now that you have completed your morning self care, it is time to make a plan for the day. Your Sunday self care plan should include self care acts that you want to do to pamper yourself and self care acts that you can do to set yourself up for a successful week. Write a list to help you stay on track and remember what you need to do.
Here is an example of how I write my self care Sunday to-do list:
4. Tackle cleaning first
One thing you should do to start your week off right is clean your space. You don’t have to do a big deep clean (unless you want to) but, I do recommend taking some time to tidy up your home. I always say a clean home equals a clear mind. I find it is easier to relax when my home is tidy, and it feels good to start the week off with a clean home.
5. Prep for the week
Prepare as much as you can for the week.
Some things you can prep on Sunday are:
- meals – premake a few meals for the week
- food – wash all produce so it’s ready to eat/use for the week
- outfits – pick out your outfits for the week
- iron – iron your clothes
Preparing ahead of time will make things easier for you during the week.
6. Pamper time
Now it’s time to pamper yourself and spend a little time on your outer self care.
Here are some self care ideas to pamper yourself:
- put on a face mask
- take a shower
- exfoliate with a body scrub while showering
- shave (if you like to)
- moisturize your body with your favorite lotion
- trim and paint your nails
- put on cozy pajamas
I found these super cute pajamas that are perfect to wear after your pamper routine

7. Time to relax
Your home is tidy, you have everything prepped and ready for the week, and it’s finally time to relax.
Try some of these relaxing self care ideas.
- drink chamomile tea (it is a good bedtime tea to help you relax)
- watch a light-hearted t.v show
- color
- write down any thoughts in your head
- meditate
- listen to calming music
- read a book
I am obsessed with this heated back and neck massager, and I use it while reading or watching t.v. to relax.
8. Wind down for bed
A good night’s rest is one of my favorite acts of self care. Give yourself time to wind down before bed. Try to stay off your phone at least 30 minutes before you sleep, so you don’t get caught up scrolling social media or reading news articles. Gently stretch your body, and start preparing to go to sleep.

Here is an exact breakdown of my self care bedtime routine:
When I follow this routine I have the best sleep.
- 1 hour and 30 minutes before bed – I drink chamomile tea and make a to-do list for the next day. Chamomile tea helps me relax, and making a to-do list helps me clear my mind of all the things I need to get done.
- 1 hour before bed – finish up anything I am doing on my phone or computer.
- 45 minutes before bed – floss and brush teeth.
- 30 minutes before bed – stretch, read, and meditate before getting in bed.
