Best Self Care Night Ideas:
1. Tidy up
I truly believe a clean home equals a clear mind, and I can’t relax when my home is messy. If you are similar, consider adding a simple cleaning routine at the end of each day. A quick nightly cleaning routine will help you keep a clean space and get ready for the next day.
Here is my quick nighttime cleaning routine:
- Wash any dishes in the sink
- Rinse out sink
- Wipe down kitchen and bathroom counters
- Wipe down the kitchen table
- Pick up anything on the floor
2. Take a bath or shower
Wash the day away. Take a warm bath or shower to help you feel refreshed and relaxed before bed.
I’ve been eyeing these shower steamers.
3. Do your skincare routine
Wash and moisturize your skin. Add your favorite serums or oils to show your skin extra love and care.
These pimple patches are magic, and I use them anytime I feel a blemish coming on.
4. Wear cozy pajamas
Put on your coziest pair of pajamas for a relaxing self care night at home.
5. Make a snack
Prepare your favorite snack or dessert to eat.
I love Hu Chocolate bars – they are delicious and have clean ingredients.
6. Get things ready for the next day
Set yourself up for a successful morning by getting things ready the night before. You could pick out your outfit, iron, pack lunch, and fill up your water bottle. Doing these small tasks will help you feel more relaxed and prepared for the next day.
7. Write a to-do list
Make a to-do list for the next day, so you can spend your night relaxing and not thinking of all the tasks you have to do the next day. I like to do this to clear my mind before bed.
8. Set your alarm
Set any alarms you need.
9. Make a cup of non-caffeinated tea
I love drinking a warm cup of chamomile and lavender tea to end my night.
This is my favorite tea.
10. Dim the lights
Turn down the lights in your home to prepare your body for bed.
11. Stretch
Do your favorite stretches or follow along with a video to relieve tension and stress in your body.
12. Wear blue light glasses
If you spend time on screens before bed, invest in a pair of blue light glasses to help you block the blue light from your devices and sleep better.

Call a friend or loved one to chat.

I have two kids, so I put them to bed before I start my relaxing night routine.
Make a snack for me and tea (I finally get some alone time)
If you are a parent, you know eating after putting the kids to bed is a treat, ha. I also like to make myself a cup of chamomile tea to end the night.
Watch something on t.v.
I like to watch a show before bed to help me unwind from the day.
Make my to-do list and set alarms for the next day
I’m always multi-tasking, so while I am watching my show I will make my to-do list for the next day and set my alarms. This helps me fall asleep more easily because I don’t lie awake thinking about everything I have to do and worry if I forgot something.
Put the phone away for the night
I try to put my phone away at least 30 minutes before bed each night.
Read a few pages of a book or write in a journal
I end my night by reading a few pages of a book or writing in my gratitude journal. It helps me end my night on a calm and positive note.
Stretch and go to bed
Lastly, I do a few stretches and go lay down.
More Self Care Night Tips:
- Only do the self care activities that feel good to you. Some people enjoy journaling and find it therapeutic, and some don’t. Pay attention to which self care acts feel good to you. Add the self care acts that bring your joy to your self care night, and forget the rest.
- Write down your routine. Once you decide which self care ideas you want to add to your routine, write it down. This will help you remember what activities make you feel relaxed and fulfilled. You can look at your self care night checklist whenever you need a self care night at home.
