If you want to organize your life, you have to start making lists. Seriously, making lists is the only way I stay on track and get things done.
Lists will help you organize any tasks you need to complete and prevent you from forgetting to do things. They are lifesavers when it comes to being productive and completing tasks.
In this post, I am sharing how to organize your life by making lists. These lists will help you sort out all the things you have to do and conquer them.

Lists To Make To Organize Your Life:
These are the lists to make if you want to be more organized.
1. The total brain dump list
A brain dump list is where you completely empty your mind on paper. You write down anything and everything you have to do and don’t want to forget. Once you do this, you can organize everything you need to do into the lists below.
2. Daily to-do list
Your daily to-do list should include all of the things you want or have to get done for the day. It is helpful to list the tasks in the order you want to complete them, so you can easily cross each task off and see what to do next.
I use this notepad to organize my daily to-do list, and I absolutely love it.
3. List of meal plans
Plan out your meals. I grocery shop once a week, so I meal plan before I grocery shop each week. You can plan out your meals for the week, bi-weekly, or monthly depending on how often you shop. The important thing is to plan your meals before you go grocery shopping, so you know what ingredients you will need.
This meal planner pad is super helpful!
4. Grocery/home restock list
Check your pantry, cabinets, and fridge, and take inventory of any items you are out of or will need. This includes everything and anything you will need for your home from groceries to laundry detergent. A home restock list will make your shopping trip smoother and help you not forget any needed items.
5. Cleaning checklist
Make a list of what needs to be cleaned in your home and how often.
Here is an example of my daily cleaning checklist:
- Pick up anything on the floor
- Wash dishes
- Wipe down kitchen counters
- Clean kitchen table
- Wipe down bathroom counters

6. List of appointments and upcoming events
At the beginning of each month, it is so helpful to make a list of any important dates coming up. This list should include things like doctor’s appointments, school events, birthdays, etc. Basically, any important dates you need to remember for the month.
Once I make this list, I add all important dates to this fridge calendar, so my family is in the loop and also aware of any upcoming events.
7. Budget/bills list
Not the most fun list to make, but necessary. Make a list of your bills for the month, the amount owed, and when they are due. This will help you plan your budget, and not be blindsided by upcoming bills.
8. List of passwords
You will thank yourself for making this list! We have so many passwords to remember it is impossible to remember all of them. Do yourself a favor and keep a list of your usernames and passwords (and keep it in a safe place).
I recently purchased this password book, and it is a game-changer. It looks like a regular journal but allows you to organize your passwords in alphabetical order.

These are the perfect notebooks to start writing your lists in.
This hardcover journal is too cute!
Love that this one has tabs to keep you organized.
A good notepad is a must-have. This pink one reminds me of legally blonde, so cute!
