BEST SELF IMPROVEMENT TIPS:
1. Practice gratitude daily
Practice gratitude every single day. Each day try to think of at least one thing you are grateful for. It can be something as simple as you are thankful for the blanket that keeps you warm. The goal is to be grateful for what you have, no matter how big or small.
According to Harvard Health, expressing gratitude is associated with more happiness, positive emotions, and better health.
2. Read and watch self-help content
If you want to learn how to change your life (and improve it), you need knowledge. I started my self-improvement plan by learning from others. I read blogs, and self-help books, listened to podcasts, and watched a lot of YouTube videos. Find self-help content that leaves you feeling inspired and resonates with you.
3. Journal
Journaling has many benefits for mental health including managing anxiety, reducing stress, and coping through hard times. It is also a great way to clear your mind. Make it a habit to journal a few times a week, or whenever you have a lot on your mind. You can write down your thoughts (good or bad) to release them from your mind and destress.
4. Meditate
Learn to sit in silence and quiet your thoughts for at least 5 – 10 minutes a day. Meditation can help calm your mind and body. It can also help you become more mindful and self-aware. If you have a hard time meditating, try to listen to a guided meditation on YouTube to get started.
5. Stretch
Start stretching. Stretching is beneficial for your body, reduces stress, and can calm your mind. Stretching helps me relax, so I like to stretch before bed each night.
Try stretching each day, and see how it makes you feel.
6. Walk more
Walking is a simple and easy way to get your body moving, so try to walk more. You can go for a walk outside or simply walk around your house.
7. Eat nutritious foods
Eat nutritious and healthy whole foods. Try to incorporate more fruit, vegetables, and minimally processed foods into your diet. You will look and feel better when you eat nutritious foods.
8. Follow a routine
Routines are not always exciting, but they work. Following a routine has helped me thrive and get things done. So make a plan for each day, and create good habits until they naturally become a part of your routine.

9. Focus on the present
Train your mind to stay in the present. Naturally, we worry about the past (or future) but, the truth is the only moment we have any control over is the present.
Staying in the present moment is easier said than done (I struggle with this too), so it is helpful to remind yourself that the only moment you have control over is right now if you find yourself hung up on the past or future.
10. Go after your goals
Set goals and go after them (no matter how big or small). Make your goals a priority and schedule them in your daily routine! Goal setting is a good way to motivate yourself and level up in life.
11. Have a consistent sleep schedule
Once I became a mom, I learned how precious good sleep is, and I realized how much it affects your mood and actions. When I am well rested I feel better overall. I am also a whole lot more productive when I sleep well.
Prioritize your sleep, so you can have the energy to put into yourself and the things you want to do.
12. Spend time outdoors
Take a break from electronics, and spend time outdoors. You can go for a walk by yourself, or meet up with friends. I find that sunshine and fresh air can be a natural mood booster.
Make it a daily habit to spend time outdoors and in nature (even if it’s just on your porch).
13. Invest in yourself
Invest in your mental health, physical health, and education. Whether it’s making time for self-care, reading books, working out, or learning something new, these are all things you can do that will take your life to the next level.
You cannot go wrong when you invest in yourself.
14. Look at your phone less
Phones can be a big distraction. Be mindful of how much time you spend on your phone. Try to avoid mindlessly scrolling on your phone too frequently.
Go into your phone settings and set time limits on your apps to remind you to take a break.
15. Organize your space
A clean space equals a clear mind. Declutter your home regularly, and keep your things organized.
16. Make a budget and stick to it
Finances can be a big stressor. Make a realistic budget that works for you. Don’t add extra stress to your life by buying things that you cannot afford.
Be mindful of how much money you have and how much you spend. Only buy things you truly want or need; don’t buy things just to keep up with other people.
17. Spend quality time with yourself
Treat yourself as someone you love and respect. Value time spent alone, go on solo dates and treat yourself with kindness. Having self-love will improve your life tremendously.
