This post is all about how to look good as a stay at home mom.
I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for over 5 years, and I know it’s not glamorous. But lately, I have longed to feel like my old self again. You know, the less tired version of myself who put effort into what I look like and how I dress. If you’re reading this, you can probably relate.
When I take care of myself, I look and feel better overall. I’ve decided it’s time for me to get it together. This year I made an effort to prioritize taking care of myself inside and out. One of my goals is to look (and feel) more put together.
In this post, I am going to share exactly what I’ve been doing to look and feel better as a stay at home mom.

How To Look Good As A Stay At Home Mom:
1. Pick Out Your Clothes The Night Before
Mornings with kids are hectic. You have to help the kids get ready, make breakfast, pack lunches, and do a million other little things. Do yourself a favor and pick out your clothes the night before. This will give you time to put some thought into your outfit and not be rushed by the morning chaos.
2. 5 Minute Make Up
Create a makeup routine you can do in 5 minutes.
Here is how I do my day-to-day makeup as a stay at home mom:
First, I put on this tinted sunscreen – I like it because it adds a glow to my skin and protects it from any sun damage.
Second, I fill in any gaps in my eyebrows – this is my favorite eyebrow pencil for a natural brow. The pencil is thin and makes it easy to quickly fill in sparse areas.
Next, I use clear mascara and curl my eyelashes. I naturally have straight lashes, so the clear mascara helps my lashes hold the curl better. Even if you skip the mascara, you should curl your lashes. Curling your lashes will make you look more awake and make your lashes look longer.
Last, I apply chapstick or lipgloss, and this is my go-to makeup to look more put together in just 5 minutes.
3. Easy And Cute Hair Styles
One way to look good as a mom is to style your hair. I know a messy top bun is tempting but opt for a low bun, claw clip, or baseball cap instead. These hairstyles take the same amount of time as a top bun but look more chic.
4. Nails
I always feel more put together when my nails look good. Keep your nails trimmed and filed. Even if you only paint your nails with clear polish, you will look more put together.
I love the look of painted nails but have little time to do them which is why I’ve been obsessed with nail stickers. They are easy to put on, and I don’t have to wait for nail polish to dry. They last 1 – 2 weeks and the polish doesn’t chip. I also found they last longer if I wear gloves while washing the dishes.
I use these nail stickers, and they are game-changers for busy moms! They have a lot of different designs and colors to choose from, I highly recommend them.
5. Wear Jewelry
Jewelry is an easy way to enhance your look. When you wear jewelry, it makes it look as if you spent more time and effort on your look. In reality, it just takes a couple of minutes! This is a simple way to look more elegant as a stay at home mom.
6. Comfy Shoes That Go With Any Outfit
I love a good pair of cute and comfy shoes I can throw on to complete my outfit.
These are my go-to shoes that pair well with an everyday casual (but cute) mom look:
These vans are trendy right now and go with everything!
I love a nice pair of white shoes – these are the same style of vans but in white.
Uggs are so comfortable and perfect for colder days – these Uggs are super popular, cute, and cozy!
How To Feel Pretty As A Stay At Home Mom:
1. Take Care Of Your Skin
Find a skincare routine that works for your skin type. I watch tons of videos on skincare and try to keep my routine as simple as possible, so I can stick to it. I make sure to wear sunscreen every day, and cleanse and moisturize in the morning and night. When my skin looks good, I feel more confident.
When I do have a breakout, I’ve been using these pimple patches and they work – I put these on instead of picking at my face and they make my blemishes go away faster!
2. Move Your Body
Go for a walk, or do a home workout! According to Mayo Clinic, exercising can make you feel happier and more confident in your appearance. You will feel good inside and out, so it’s a win-win! As a busy mom, I find it easiest to go on a walk around my neighborhood or follow a workout routine on youtube.
3. Self Care
Make taking care of yourself a priority! Seriously, so many moms put themselves last, and I am guilty of it too. But, you deserve to be taken care of, so do kind things for yourself! Eat delicious and nutritious foods, brush your hair, and buy nice things for yourself. When I take the time to care for myself and make myself a priority, I feel good in my skin.
