We have all experienced a lack of motivation at some point. Whether you are trying to motivate yourself to study or work out, you will need motivation (and a good plan) to start.
As a mom to two young children, I find myself feeling tired and overwhelmed by the end of the day. I have goals I really want to accomplish but sometimes struggle with feeling motivated to actually do them. Through trial and error, I have found some really helpful motivational tips (that work).
When feeling lazy and unmotivated, I think about the why behind my goals. I contemplate why I set out to accomplish the goal, and why it is important to me. In this post, I am going to share easy ways to motivate yourself to get started on your goals.
Sometimes, starting is the most challenging part when it comes to achieving your goals, but you can use these easy ways to motivate yourself to go after your goals.

BEST WAYS TO MOTIVATE YOURSELF:
1. Write your goal(s) down.
Write down the goal(s) you want to accomplish. I highly recommend limiting yourself to only 2 or 3 goals at a time, so you don’t overwhelm yourself. Once you accomplish your first set of goals you can move on to the next goal you want to achieve.
2. Make a list of steps on how to accomplish at least one of your goals.
Research the steps you need to take to achieve your goal (I use Google and youtube to research pretty much everything). Write down the steps you need to do to achieve your goal. This lets you know exactly what you need to do and where to start.
3. Look at the goals and steps you wrote down, every day.
Put the list of goals you made somewhere you will see it. This will help remind you of your goals, and it will help keep you focused. You can tape them to a mirror you use to get ready, or take a picture and save it as your screensaver on your phone or computer. Just make sure to put it somewhere you will see it daily!

4. Listen to motivational podcasts, videos, and books.
Listen, watch, and read motivational content on the goal you want to accomplish. I find others’ success stories super inspiring, and you can learn a lot from other people’s accomplishments.
I also recommend reading Atomic Habits. This book is all about how to build good habits which is key when it comes to achieving your goals. I learned so much good information from this book and recommend it to all my friends.
5. Get Started!
The last, but most important way to motivate yourself is to start! You will learn so much through trial and error once you start working towards achieving your goal. Start doing some of the steps on your list (no matter how big or small). A lot of the time starting is the hardest part, and once you get started you will find the motivation to keep pushing forward!
Remember, the right time to start working towards your goal is right now! It may never feel like the right time to start, and if you wait for the perfect time you may never start.
