Mom Hacks To Make Life Easier:
1. No tie shoe laces
These shoelaces are amazing! If you have a child who can’t tie their shoes yet, these are a must-have. My daughter started kindergarten this year, so I bought these no-tie shoe laces, and they are a game changer. I seriously wish I had known about these sooner.
I bought this pack.
2. Fridge Calendar
Hang a calendar on your fridge and fill in all important dates for the month. This will help you and your family remember all the important dates that are coming up.
I bought this magnetic one – it comes with dry-erase markers and a magnetic to-do list. I love it!
3. Keep first aid kits on hand
When you have kids, falls happen. Having a first aid kit on hand with lots of bandaids is always great, so you are prepared. I like to keep one at home and one in my purse.
4. Magic erasers remove crayon marks
Did you know magic erasers remove crayon markings off the wall? They really work. I have been finding crayon markings on the walls in my kid’s room, and the magic eraser made my walls look brand new.
I always keep these on hand.
5. Snack drawer/bins
Keep a snack drawer or bin that your kids can access by themselves. This makes it easy for them to quickly grab a snack when they are hungry, and you won’t have to constantly find snacks for them.
6. Name labels
You have to label pretty much everything when your child starts school so that things don’t get lost or mixed up. Waterproof name labels make it easy to quickly label your child’s items.
7. Make “homes” for toys
I explain to my children that all of their toys have homes that they must return to at the end of the day. For example, barbies go in a bin for Barbies, big toys go in the toy box, legos go in a Lego container, etc. This makes it easy for my kids to pick up their toys and put them back where they belong.

8. Books make great teachers
I took child development classes as a teenager, and I learned that books are a great way to teach and relate to children. As a mom, I can tell you it’s true. We use books to learn so many things from how to navigate feelings to how to be a good friend.
I’ve been reading this book with my 10-year-old, and we love it! It does a great job teaching kids about feelings and how to navigate them. My son is picking up a lot of positive skills from it.
9. Schedule quiet time for your kids
If you are feeling overwhelmed, try scheduling “quiet time” in your day for you and your children. Set a timer for how much time you need, and set your kids up with activities they can do independently. I let my kids know quiet time is in session until the timer goes off. Some of my kid’s quiet time activities include playing with legos, puzzles, or any other toys they have, coloring, or watching a show. Quiet time will give you time and space to decompress.

10. Educational shows
Screen time is not always ideal but as a mom, it’s necessary to get things done at times. I feel better when my kids are learning positive things while watching TV.
Here are some of my kid’s top educational show picks on Netflix:
- Number Blocks
- Ask The Story Bots
- Emily’s Wonder Lab
- Ada Twist, Scientist
- The Magic School Bus Rides Again
11. Divided plates will keep food separate
If your kid hates when their food touches, divided plates will make your life easier. Since the plates have built-in dividers their food will stay separated.
12. Keep a routine
One of the best ways to make your life easier is to create and follow routines. Routines have many benefits for kids, and they will help you feel more organized and in control.

13. Prepare the night before
The mornings can be rough when you have to get yourself and your children ready to be anywhere on time. Prepare as much as you can the night before. I pick out outfits, pack lunches and snacks, fill up water bottles, and set backpacks by the door the night before. This makes my mornings run a whole lot smoother. This parenting hack will make a big difference in your morning routine.
14. Use a salad spinner to wash fruit
I used to think salad spinners were only for washing salad, but they can wash a ton of other things too. I started using a salad spinner to wash our strawberries and blueberries for the week, and it’s impressive.
This is the one I have.
15. Zip lock bags are your friend
Ziplock bags are great for kids because they are easy to open and have tons of uses. If your child can’t open their snacks by themselves yet, you can transfer snacks into ziplock bags before putting them in their lunch box. You can also use ziplock bags to organize game pieces, puzzles, barbie accessories, and so much more.
16. Bring activities for long car rides
Bring along activities to keep kids entertained during long car rides. This will give you some time to listen to your music or a podcast while you drive and not hear mom, mom, mom every 5 seconds. My kids usually bring reading books, coloring books, or their pop-its to play with.
17. Put on music during chore time
Make chore time less daunting by putting on a fun playlist you and your children can listen to while cleaning up.
18. Crocs make great shoes for kids
Crocs make the perfect on-the-go shoe for kids. They are easy to put on and take off, easy to wipe clean, and you can customize them with cute charms. I love that they are affordable too.
19. Stickers can help with putting shoes on correctly
Cut a sticker in half and place each half in each of your child’s shoes. All they have to do is line the sticker halves up to know if they are putting their shoes on correctly.
This is my most used mom hack for toddlers!
20. Cupcake liners make great food dividers
You can use cupcake liners to divide your child’s food when packing their lunch box.
21. Mesh bags to prevent lost socks
Are you tired of losing little socks and gloves in your washing machine or dryer? Place all socks and small items in a mesh bag before washing. This will help you keep all your socks together and prevent missing ones!
22. Stock up on sick day supplies
When your child is sick, the last thing you want to worry about is dragging them out to the store. Keep a supply of sick day essentials, such as medicine, tissues, saline spray, and anything else you may need.
23. Keep old pull-ups in the house
Do not get rid of pull-ups once your child is done with potty training. If your child gets diarrhea, you can have them wear a pull-up. This will help prevent them from making a mess if they can’t make it to the bathroom in time. Pull-ups will make the clean-up process much easier.
24. Food picks make mealtime fun
Food picks are a super-easy way to make mealtime more fun for your little ones. They are also super affordable which is always a plus.
I bought this pack on Amazon and my kids love them.
25. Robot Vacuums are game changers
If you have children, you probably also have crumbs. Robot vacuums can be a big help around the house. You can have your home vacuumed with just the push of a button.
I have the Shark ION Robot Vacuum, and I use it every single day. I love that it works on hardwood floors and carpets, and it’s quiet.
26. Movie nights are a fun and easy way to bond with your kids
One of my favorite ways to bond with my kids (and relax) is to have a movie night. The kids always look forward to movie nights and eating fun snacks together.
After the movie, we talk about our favorite parts of the movie. Movie nights are a fun and simple way to make memories with your children.
27. Schedule self-care time
Last but not least, my best advice for moms is to make time for self-care. Self-care can look a little different for everyone, but make time to care for yourself and do something you enjoy. Motherhood can be exhausting, so it is important to do things that make you feel happy and fulfilled.
When you are happy and taken care of, you will be a better mother, so take time for yourself.
