As a mom of two, I know how hard it is to keep a clean home. I also know how stressful it can feel when your home is a mess. I’m one of those people who can’t relax when my space is a mess. Which is why I knew I had to put together a cleaning schedule I could stick to.

Stay-At-Home Mom Cleaning Schedule:
I swear by this cleaning routine. It helps keep my home tidy and keeps the mess from becoming overwhelming. I am going to go over precisely what I clean each day.
Daily cleaning tasks:
I try to do these tasks every day to keep a clean home. This daily cleaning routine usually takes around 20 – 30 minutes.
- wash dishes
- clean kitchen sink
- wipe down kitchen counters and table
- wipe down bathroom counters
- pick up anything on the floor
I am obsessed with these Scrub Mommy sponges. They work so well – seriously the best sponges!
Monday (Living Room/Dining Area):
I like to keep Monday’s cleaning routine simple and focus on the living area. I can usually get this done in under an hour.
- Pick up anything left on the couch or floor
- Wipe down tables
- Dust
- Vacuum
This duster with an extension pole makes dusting so easy. I love that it can reach high places.
Tuesday (Kids Room):
My kids have too many toys, so their room constantly gets messy! I have them pick it up once a day, but they haven’t gotten the hang of organizing yet. I usually spend 1 – 2 hours putting everything in the correct place and cleaning up.
- organize toys and books
- pick up anything on the floor
- wipe down nightstands
- vacuum
Wednesday (My Room):
Now we are in the middle of the week, and it’s time to clean my room. This only takes me about 30 minutes.
- pick up anything on the floor
- hang up any clothes left out
- wipe down nightstands, vanity, and t.v. stand
- vacuum
Thursday (Bathrooms):
I have two bathrooms in my home, so it takes about 45 minutes to clean both of them. I find it helpful to clean the showers and tub once a week. Honestly, cleaning the bathtub is my least favorite task, but if I clean them weekly they don’t accumulate too much dirt (which means less scrubbing for me).
- clean sinks
- wipe down mirrors
- clean showers
- clean toilets
- vacuum and mop
Friday (Kitchen Appliances):
It’s the end of the week, and I am tired. I keep Friday’s cleaning minimal.
- clean out fridge and freezer
- clean microwave
Saturday (day off):
- get groceries/family time
Sunday (Kitchen + miscellaneous tasks):
Sunday is when I do the most cleaning. I spend at least a few hours cleaning the kitchen and any other random things that need it.
- clean entire kitchen
- put away food
- restock fridge and cabinets
- vacuum and mop the kitchen
- put away folded laundry (my husband washes and folds laundry)

Best Cleaning Supplies:
These are my favorite cleaning supplies that I use every week.
Microfiber cloths – These are great for wiping down counters, appliances, and tables. I like to use a different color for each room.
Scrub brush with soap dispenser – I fill this with dish soap and use it to scrub my bathroom sinks. It’s a game-changer.
Dawn powerwash spray – I use this for everything from washing dishes to cleaning the counters and table.
Vacuum – I’ve had this one for years, and it is the best vacuum I have ever owned. It has strong suction, works on carpet and hardwood floors, and it’s affordable.
Cleaning Tips For Moms:
Write down your cleaning schedule
Writing down your cleaning schedule will help you remember what to clean each day.
Listen to something
Put on your headphones, and listen to your favorite songs, podcast, or book. This will make cleaning a little more fun.
Get your family involved
Don’t feel like you have to do all the cleaning alone. Get your kids and partner involved in the cleaning routine.
